Climb aboard my not-so-trusty 1953 Dodge M43 ambulance—welcome to mobile art studio! I’m on a quest to uncover gems and quirky, off-the-beaten-path spots that most folks wouldn't dare explore. Armed with a paintbrush and a questionable sense of direction, I’ll share my creative process and the stories behind each piece, all while possibly getting lost along the way. Buckle up; it’s going to be a wild ride of creativity

Stage 1

  • Wiring needs to be redone.

  • Fuel pump needs to be wired correctly

First Issues Encountered

  • The Fuel tank was out, and lines were disconnected.

  • Fuel tank had pin holes, aftermarket stainless steel was the only option.

  • Carburetor issues was the next problem.

  • Wiring needs to be gone through.

  • Battery is a whole other issue

  • Brakes and clutch need to be bled.

  • Battery was originally a duel battery set up, but changed due to engine switch

  • currently a duel set up causes sparks, currently running on one battery

  • Tires are worn, lights, horn currently non functioning due to loose wiring

  • leaks through the skylight roof vent

Stage 2

Repairs in progress
  • Swapped the brake master cylinder, and clutch slave cylinder. found an additional clutch master cylinder, part ordered. bled anyway and got pressure with old clutch master but leaks.

  • identified a battery isolator to allow for a dual battery set up but to not allow the batteries to drain each other and charge independently. main battery powers starter and main lights and siren, wipers, second battery unknown as or now other than wires going to the living quarters.

  • replaced tires with spares which are now 10.5x16 rather than the 9x16.

  • replaced the steering wheel along with shifter retainer clip.

  • added aftermarket magnetic backup camera powered by the portable power bank currently for the home studio lights.

  • Registration started again since it got weighted today, waiting for plates.

  • Fuel tank is holding and reading on the gauge. New fuel tank straps are installed and tank and straps painted.
